Beta terms of use
1. The beta
Site Baseline is provided by Dylan Thomas, trading as Site Baseline, as a free test version while it is being developed. Features may change, stop working or be withdrawn without notice. We may end the beta, or your access to it, at any time.
2. Professional use and review
Site Baseline gathers information from third-party datasets and measures distances. It does not assess the significance of environmental effects or give professional advice. You must check all results against their sources, and a suitably qualified professional must review any work that relies on them. You remain responsible for any report, application or decision you produce.
3. Third-party data
Results come from datasets published by Natural England, Historic England, the Environment Agency, Defra, the Woodland Trust, the Planning Data platform and others, under their own licences, mainly the Open Government Licence. We do not control these datasets. They may be incomplete, out of date or temporarily unavailable, and coverage of some local datasets depends on which councils publish them. Where you use the results, you must include the attribution each source requires.
4. No warranty
The beta is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.
5. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the beta, including loss of profit, business or data, or any loss arising from reliance on results that have not been professionally reviewed. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [HAVE A SOLICITOR REVIEW THIS CLAUSE, INCLUDING ANY FINANCIAL CAP.]
6. Your account
Invitations are personal. Do not share your access with anyone else. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your access.
7. Feedback and confidentiality
We are grateful for feedback and may use it to improve Site Baseline without any obligation to you. Please do not share screenshots or details of the beta publicly without asking us first.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
